Michael L. Peduto oral history, 1965.

As an official for the City of Auburn, N.Y., Michael L. Peduto was involved with the establishment of a sugar beet industry in Cayuga County, N.Y. In this interview, he describes some of his experiences as a city official, and shares his observations of the people and events associated with obtaining the sugar beet allotment. Relationships between Auburn political organizations and the New York State College of Agriculture, the establishment of the Finger Lakes Sugar Beet Growers Association, and the criteria used to evalutate sugar companies, especially PepsiCo, are discussed. Also included are Mr. Peduto's impressions of Paul Aron, Paul W. Lattimore, Chares F. Brannon, Charles Lavis, Nathan Cohen, Henry Stack, and C. DelMar Kearl. Mr. Peduto's 1962 resume has been attached as an addendum to this interview.
